Goathland

Goathland is a village situated within the North York Moors National Park, and rose to fame after providing many of the locations for the TV series Heartbeat which aired between 1992 and 2010.

Whilst the filming of Heartbeat generated an increase in tourism for the village, there are many other reasons for attracting visitors, with Goathland remaining a popular location – both for day trips and longer stays.

The station is also popular among movie fans, having featured as the Hogwarts Express stop at Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films.

In addition to regular services, the railway also organises a number of special events throughout the year. Event or timetable information is available from the station or by visiting www.nymr.co.uk.
