Cherry Garth opened its doors to visitors in October 2019. It was the home of Ken and Beryl for more than 30 years, each of whom made enormous contributions to many aspects of the life of the village during their years of retirement. The property remains in the ownership of the family, who continue to make regular visits to a much-loved part of the country.
Cherry Garth comprises four bedrooms, with a double room situated on the ground floor with a king-sized bed and shower en-suite. The first floor includes a double room, a triple room and a smaller box single room. Due to the limited space in the single room, the pricing is set in line with properties sleeping a maximum of 7 guests.
On entering Cherry Garth, guests are welcomed into the sun room, which overlooks the moors in the direction of Whitby. The unobstructed views make for an ideal space from which to watch the evening sunset.
A spacious hallway leads guests to all ground floor rooms, including a lounge complete with wood-burner and flatscreen tv. Across the hallway is the dining room and adjoining kitchen, with a utility room to the rear of the property which is accessed from the kitchen.
A cloakroom and additional downstairs toilet complete the ground floor rooms.
The first floor bathroom includes both a bath and separate shower cubicle.
A paved area to the front of the cottage allows for two cars to be parked on the driveway, and a second driveway which leads towards the garden to the rear of the cottage can also be used and is accessed from Beck Hole Road.
The garden is completely enclosed, although with the possibility of sheep grazing on common areas outside the property and some loose stones that form a perimiter to the path around the house, guests must ensure the supervision of accompanying children and/or dogs.
Cherry Garth is managed by Yorkshire Cottages, based in the local Whitby office. To check availability or make a booking, visit: www.cottages.com/cottages/cherry-garth-uk2598
